Course outline

The suite of quality management standards became effective on 15 December 2022.  The importance of the system of quality management cannot be understated.

A resilient system of quality management is not just a compliance exercise. It is also essential to audit quality, trust, and sustainability in the profession.  Quality management is an ongoing process, and this course focuses on highlighting the importance and focuses on areas of weakness for improvement.

Content:

The areas we will be covering in the session are:

1.  Quality at the firm level in terms of ISQM 1
   a. Identification of relevant risks and the assessment process
   b. Responses designed to address the quality risks
   c. Monitoring the system and effective remediations
2. Reviews
   a. Engagement quality reviews in terms of ISQM 2
   b. File monitoring reviews
   c. Internal monitoring reviews
   d. Hot reviews
   e. Firm monitoring reviews
3. Lessons to be learnt from the IRBA 2024 Public Inspections Report
   a. Actions and remediation improve the firm’s system of quality management

Important to note:

• The course is open for 12 months and will then close.
• A recording will be made available after the session.  The recording will be available even if you were not able to join the session, and thus no refund will be applicable.
• Certificates will be issued on the date of successful completion of the assessment. The certificate will reflect the date of the training session.
